I know that a number of users thought that the poll was referring to the chat that we have on the right side of the home page. The RSS feed is fdumb because pretty much everyone that is interested in that kind of news readily obtains it from another source. It is something that is simply unneeded and gets in the way in my opinion.
Also, the only way that i see making the banner work for all resolutions is to make it huge, so that it scales down for lowere resolutions, but doesnt leave the blank space for larger resolutions. I think that since 1920x1080 is pretty much the standard high resolution for most monitors, we should have the banner fit that resolution at least. People with even higher resolutions than that... well frankly, who are they to complain, they have freaking amazing monitors.
